Classification and Performance Differences of Fire-Resistant Glass

Abstract

Fire-rated glass can be divided into single-pane fire-rated glass, composite fire-rated glass, and insulated fire-rated glass according to its structure and performance.

Fire-rated glass can be classified into single-pane fire-rated glass, composite fire-rated glass, and injected fire-rated glass, based on its structure and performance. Single-pane fire-rated glass relies on the material's inherent thermal stability for fire resistance, suitable for places with lower fire resistance requirements; composite fire-rated glass enhances overall performance through the combination of multiple layers of glass and fire-resistant interlayers; injected fire-rated glass uses a special fire-retardant liquid injected into the interlayer, providing more durable fire protection. Users should choose suitable fire-rated glass products based on the actual application environment and fire rating requirements.

When choosing fire-rated glass, in addition to considering its classification and performance, attention must also be paid to installation and maintenance requirements. Different types of fire-rated glass may have different technical requirements during installation. For example, the installation of composite fire-rated glass requires ensuring tightness between layers to prevent the transmission of flames and heat; while injected fire-rated glass requires special attention to the stability and integrity of the fire-retardant liquid in the interlayer to avoid affecting fire protection due to leakage. In addition, users should regularly check the condition of the fire-rated glass, especially in high-temperature or humid environments, as these factors may affect the performance of the glass. Choosing products that meet international standards and having professional installation and maintenance can further improve the safety and durability of fire-rated glass. In short, selecting suitable fire-rated glass products and performing proper subsequent installation and maintenance will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of buildings and their occupants.
